HI, I am a complete noob when it comes to modifying go-karts. I mostly do some mods with power wheels for my son when he was young. Now he is all grown up 12 yrs old and weight around 120 ibs.

I recently purchased a razor ground drifter instead of the crazy cart because it was almost 150 cheaper. However, when I got the razor drifter, it wasnt what i expected, my son could barely go up on a small 5% incline on the road and the speed is very sluggish.

I am thinking of modding this with mininal changes to the stock parts. So here are my questions and I have looked all over the forum and couldnt really find the answer.

1. Should I buy the ebay motor that comes with controller or them separately? lets say 500w 36v motor, I am not trying to sup up the kart. just 12mph speed that can go up the driveway and road. (I saw the crazy XL uses 500w motor so I figure it should be ok)

2. Can I use 500w 24v motor with one 12v 18ah battery to achieve the same with two 12v 9 ah battery?

3. If I decide to go 1000w 36v motor, will I need to change the stock charger port, troller, chains, gears, sprocket, axle...etc?

4. If I just want to change the motor, battery, and controller on the kart. What would be the max motor, battery or controller that i need? Meaning if nothing else changes what are the best motor that my stock parts can support? I dont want to change anything more if its not necessary.

5. Now if I want to get another razor drifter cart for myself at 200 ibs. (again not looking to run crazy speed, but something comparable with my kid at 12 to 17 mph that can go a little hill and drive on street) What do I need to do?

6. 1000w 36v can it be the same as 1000x 48v besides the battery? meaning can both maintain same speed, go up smaill 5% hill and driving on the road with 12 mph?

7. Lastly, where can i get the tires to switch them out to the rubber ones? I heard I can use the razor bugger tires and do a direct straight switch without any mods. I can find all the tires, but no one is selling the rim for those tires that can fit.

I greatly appreciate all the helps i can get or any suggestions. I am looking to achieve the manufacturer spec on the razor drifter but upgrading to version that can support 120 ibs and 200 ibs. Meaning getting the same end result of Razor crazy XL without paying 800 dollars for one.
