Hello. I took a key ignition just like the one "
2 Wire Ignition Switch/key Gas Electric Scooter Go Kart pocket bike " Il post a pic for it,
I have a toggle switch, I got an extra wire and wired it up to my ignition ( all i did was take the screw holding the green and black wire off and attached another one. I took the toggle switch off. I put it back on, ) but theres a green wire and a black wire screwed onto my engine, The black wire leads right into the toggle swich, But i cant fine where the green one goes.. Is the green wire live or ground?

your key should be an in-line ground. Pretty much what you do when you turn the key off is ground out the stator so you no longer energize the coil for spark.

Thats really the easiest way to think of it.

Would that key started work with it only having two wires on it?

Hard to tell, you really need to know when it makes and breaks the connection. For a "the-engine-won't-start-with-the-key-out" switch, you'd want it to make the connection when you remove the key, and break the connection when the key is in and turned.
