Looking to see if anyone has any recommendations for a powder coater and sand blaster in the Dallas Fort Worth area. Will be doing a build soon and want to see how much more powder coating is than the good rattle cans.

Normally I use about 3-4 cans for primer, 5-6 cans of paint and 5-6 cans of clear. At $5-$6 per can that adds up quick for a frame of the DB30 type. I put on a lot of layers of paint. I know that powder coat will still be much more expensive but figured I’d see what is out there.

Thanks

hm.. I'm certainly NOT DFW area, not even close...
but around here a DB30 (if we talk Baja mini bike) would roughly cost you no more than 100-150 bucks (a quote I got for a yard kart chassis last year)
depending on how long it takes to properly blast the frame and cover pressed bearing races and such.
or short: the more prepwork you've done the cheaper it gets.

And considering you could max out on rattle cans at $96 it's maybe not THAT much more, is it?

Again, not nearly DFW area.. but I'd say it may be worth your while to call some companies
just in case you don't get any recommendations on whom to ask locally ;)

I dont know how much of a price difference there is in Dallas, but my buddy got his motovox frame powder coated for $125. He had to blast it clean first or they would have charged him for that too.
