Hey guys, got my pocket bike running good now.

I've been reading through what mods are good. I know that it doesn't increase performance, but first I'm thinking of getting a high flow fuel filter. There is a plastic one on eBay atm for $1 including postage. It should fit my bike, right? There is also alloy ones, which one should I get? The alloy doesn't say it's high flow.

The clutches on these things are not as long lasting as Max Torque clutches, just to give you an idea. The performance clutch should lock up quicker and last a tad longer. I would also look for a high performance exhaust, better carb, and better air filter. Better carb meaning a performance carb, nothing more then 22mm (which is the general accepted size for mini moto racers, but alas, this is not fact), and some kind of high flow air filter. I would also grab a flywheel while your at it, not sure if it's billet, but it is lighter, professionally made, and will give you a tad more performance.

All of that will come in under $150 including postage. With these things, performance is cheap!

Reckon either of these filters will fit it? The plastic one is high flow, the alloy one doesn't say.

To start with I just want to get the things that will make the bike last longer, which I think is just the fuel filter. Then when I get bored and have a bit more money I can start buying a few extra parts. (shouldn't be TOO long)

*EDIT* I might get the clutch soon to, I've seen one ended at $6 or so including postage :O from the same seller as the one I linked in my original post.

Should fit, go for the plastic one. Grab whatever hop-up parts you can, and I would grab a couple of clutches too. At 6 bucks a pop, you can afford to have spares.

What would be the best mod to make take off better? Meaning less pushing and faster acceleration/low end torque.

Better exhaust. Better Carb. Better Flywheel. In that order. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding of the matter is that most of the hidden potential in any 2 cycle is in the exhaust.

ok thanks. Another question, is there anything I can do that would hurt the bike such as have throttle on full when it's cold? Does that hurt it? When I'm accelerating, is it ok to hold throttle on full, until the rpm's pick up? What should I do to prepare the bike before I ride it? Do I need to warm it up/ exercise rpm's or anything like that?

As a precautionary measure, It wouldn't hurt to let it idle while you inspect the rest of the bike to make sure it's safe and usable, would it? 30 seconds should do it. You don't have lubrication issues in a 2 cycle provided the engine is running, but I tend to let it warm up a tad first. Choke it (if needed) start it, idle 10 sec, move choke off, quick rev, check over bike, away you go.

OK thanks, I'll hopefully get another go. I'm still riding with a flat front tire atm. Hopefully my replacement tire and brake handle gets here tomorrow. The replacement isn't a slick so I'll put it on the back to get more grip. The front rims are the same as the back ones right?
