Output Shaft Removal on 250 cc GoKart

Hey All!

I'm new, trying to get help (no idea what I'm doing). I need to replace the output shaft. I tried re threading and got a new variator, made it about 100ft before bolt was loose and front variator stripped bad. The splines are pretty messed up so wasn't too surprised.

I'm not too sure how to replace the output shaft? I couldn't find any videos, wonder if there's an easy way?

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Not much you can do with that mess. Time for a new engine and variator. That shaft is the end of the crank shaft.

Ah, wouldn't have known what I was looking at, but then again do we really know? I wouldn't have known without more photos.

I thought it was this? Doesn't appear to be the crankshaft?

Looks like you found what you need. Without a larger picture of your engine it will be impossible to tell how it is connected. Probably driven off of a gear in the crankcase.
