I'm looking for opinions on using a clutch with a band as a brake setup. It's going on the old Tecumseh that, is now going on a mini bike. I'll probably install an emergency brake, in case the chain falls off, and I made a spring chain tensioner. Tell me what you think, Thanks!

This has been discussed before, and its not recommended just because the clutch will get even more hot than it already is and can warp. You CAN try it, but be prepared to buy another clutch if something happens..

I have seen it work with a cheap cart clutch on a 12hp 250cc Hirth snowmobile engine(way more than the little clutch was designed for), might go get some pics.

or get a rear brake on ebay from a minibike, its a full disc setup and will run about $40 which is the same as a new clutch
