Newbie from Niagara falls

Hello all,
My name is Jay, i've been into gokarts for most of my life but never got the opertune moment to build one. i picked up a set of plans off ubuilditplans.com. this has the basic look of what i want to build i also want to do some kind of suspension for off road trail riding.
i've got experiance in welding and building do to i used to do bodywork but now i just do it as a hobby.
anyway right no my main concern i finding the best powerplant for my application. if anyone has some sugestion please let me know or even if some one have something avaliable and is in the area that would be cool to.

thats going to be my next project for a buddy of mine. he piced up one of those pocket rockets for free off one of his friends but he's a little to big for them so we'll use what we can and make hime a bigger version.
