New to kart building

I have a question on gear ratio and a torque o vector. Currently 6.5 predator with a rejet and filter 10 t out of torque converter to 60 tooth on live axel 15 in tires. Way to much torque 6.0 ratio. Would 5.0 ratio be enough ? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
