I got a couple karts over the weekend, one for the kids and one for the grownups. Both are home made units. The one for the kids needs paint, a seat, and a throttle cable. The big one needs lots. They both came with old Briggs 5 hp engines, one running one not. The not running one might run but the spring in the recoil is missing. I'm not sure if I should buy the spring or just get a predator from HF. The big one is getting disc brake and hopefully a diff rear end, torque converter, and bigger tires. The little one I'll run the band brake until it becomes a problem. Aside from the engine for the big one, I'm debating some sort of roll cage for the little one, any thoughts on the likeliness of a rollover? Thanks for your time, Eric

The likelyhood of a rollover is determined by many factors, which we can't determine until we see the kart in question; if it's a small, low kart with a low centre of gravity, it's unlikely but, the higher it gets, the higher the odds get; basically, it depends on how well the kart was made...

So, the Predator will end up on the bigger kart?

You want pics, my kids want it together so they can ride it, and I want a full nights sleep. Seems like no one will be happy today. They are both made out off 1" square tube and sit lie to the ground, old school kart style. I've seen plenty of that style smashed into things but can't think of any rolled ones. Yes I'm leaving toward the predator for the big kart. The kids are 7, 2, and 1 which means the little kart will need to stay mild for a long time. Where as the big kart I want to be reasonably snappy with room for improvement as each kid grows into wrenching. I can't have then running out and tearing the jeep apart every weekend.

Welcome to the forum. When you have had a full nights sleep, and the kids have gotten over the exitement of wanting it all together....post some pics. There is no real way we can help you get things together or offer advice if we don't know what you are talking about.
