New to Go Karts

My 30 year old kid and a friend of his decided they wanted to get into Go Karts. They asked if they could build a dirt track on our property. I cut a track in the field, and the first day we had a blast, them driving and me watching. Well, I have the fever, although at 56 years old, it may pass unless I can get a cart with smoother suspension. I just signed up to this forum, and struggle sometimes with finding the way to post. If I can figure it out how to save videos from Facebook, I will post some of day one riding. If I do post up, just understand we have evaluated and made a vow to require helmets going forward.

We don't have the ability to host vids, they need to be posted on a third party site, then post the link here...

If I can figure it out how to save videos from Facebook, I will post some of day one riding.

Ok, here is an attempt to post a Facebook video of Day1 on the track. Before I garner a hailstorm of warnings, we have instituted a helmet policy. We also have decided under 16 need only ride carts with roll cage protection. So...there that is.

Hey FreeRunner, let me know if these Facebook linked videos are viewable. They are as firstperson as it gets. The track has 3 major turns, a downhill terraced straightaway. It is currently being improved everytime we run. My dream is to have infield stands for viewing. Also we are thinking timed tryouts, multiple heats and elimination rounds, 5 laps each. A kids day, a ladys day. I am excited as heck right now.

I think it is a 6 horse Methanol racing engine. Two of these lunatics went and bought 16 hp engines and have them screaming. I may be out before I ever started.
