Hi there new to the forum, I'm 30 year old male from u.k.
Been reading threw this forum and can see this is the forum to be on with any questions regarding go karts and go kart problems.
New to karts but have mechanical knowladge on motorcycles and engines but the question today im asking is on a part that motorcycles Ive ever worked do not have.

The question is on the centrifugal clutch, what it is guys is ive picked up an old go kart today for £100, it had been stood just short off year, it had a honda gx110 3.5hp engine I know it's not a big engine but kart is only for 12 year old lad to mess about on.

I've cleaned carb and air filter and put fresh fuel and spark plug in and put choke on and it fired up after 2 pulls.

Problem is the centrifugal clutch seems to be jammed on as when you push the kart forward while it's not started the kart wants to start like the clutch is jammed on and Turing engine over when the rear wheel are pushed forward, hope you understand what I'm saying as my grammer is poor and im sorry for that guys.

Thanks for reading and if ive posted this in the worng place then admin please could you delete it or put it in the right place for me.

:welcome2:
Pull the clutch off the engine. Take the bell off, by removing the snap ring on the end. Clean it up with some brake cleaner. The shoes inside should have some wiggle room, so if they don't wiggle, it needs a little attention. Hopefully, it's just rusted a bit and can be cleaned up and made useful again...

Been watching few videos on these clutches on YouTube and watched a few videos of taking them apart.
I'm going to take a look at it tomorrow and spray some brake cleaner in there, shall I lift rear end of the floor and start it up and spray it in then or shall I spary it in while engine is not on and let the brake cleaner like sink into clutch and do its job??

I'm struggling to post pics up can't seem to post any but when I work out how to post pics I will post few pics as its ignorant asking questions and showing no pictures I think.

Thanks for replying guys..
