Hi all. I have two boys ages 5 and 3 and I am looking to get a kart to have some fun with them. My wife and I will be driving for now as neither are old enough yet (maybe the 5yo, we'll see)
I was looking at used Hammerhead 150s and thinking this might be a good route as I am an ex-auto mechanic and can weld/fabricate, have a 3 in 1 and various other tools.
Is the Hammerhead reliable enough to think about purchasing as something to start with? Are the engines pretty good? I can fix whatever is needed, but I don't want something that breaks every time we ride it.
What do you guys recommend? I assume I will mod the heck out of whatever I get, but I want something that has some worthwhile parts that can be kept, rather than something that is junk and has to be completely built into another kart.
I hope you guys can offer some advice. Thanks!!
