Hey everyone! I am new to buggies/karts but not new to the automotive/mechanical world.
I recently picked up a 2012 Hammerhead Mudhead go kart/buggy and 2 Chinese quads for a song a couple of weeks ago. The kart is for the kids who are loving it. I also enjoy it a bit but a little cramped for me. Anyway, it has a knockoff 30 series clutch on it. Im having trouble trying to find a good walkthrough of how to tune the clutch, especially for off-road riding in hilly terrain. I found some basic info about different springs and engagement speeds but its all just facts without the why. I've had all the components apart for a thorough cleaning so I just need to know why this spring/weight driver/driven combo or that one)
I'm looking for in-depth info how to tune the clutch to be reliable (not destroying belts or slipping) and provide good torque for bigger/heavier tires and hills while balancing out speed (not moving at a snails pace).
Thanks!
