My name is John and I have been researching go-karts for a couple weeks as my son currently 6.5 is interested in a father-son project of building a go-kart. Most on my research and image searches have led me here, so I joined. I am pretty mechanically inclined, a have worked on my own cars since I was young as my father was a mechanic and taught me a lot. I have built drag cars and drag raced, installed and lifted a few 4X4 trucks and completely redesigned the front-end of my current daily driver and tow rig. My welding capabilities are not "professional", but I have built tow hitches for tractors (that have pulled a lot of weight for years without failure) and a bed frame for my daughter (who likes to jump on her bed), so I trust my welding.
