New 2 kart builds

Jason from Dickinson tx. Just south of Houston. This is all I want to do with any free time I have. Made everything I could my self. Kart one grey seat. Briggs 305cc generator engine on a four wheeler swing arm, with a shock under the engine. Speed app on my phone says 52 mph. Aftermarket exhaust.
Kart 2 is a 196 clone from a generator also. (Work in progress pics) Both karts front suspension ATVs I came across. This kart will do 45mph. Still learning how to weld self thought about a year practice with my machine. My welds stay together 95% of the time now. Couldn't say that 4 months ago.

That's why its called DIY! My inner cheapskate won't let me buy anything if it can be made. When the cost of the tools exceeds the price of the part, then I reconsider, unless the tool(s) are just plain cool to have then the rules go out the window.

The short answer is yes!

A CVT and a torque converter are the same thing. It performs like an automatic transmission. Forward only. Engine is able to idle without kart moving.
