Yeah, I would think that would be a starter solenoid, but I'm no tractor expert. Just ship me the tractor and I'll get it fixed :D

Dont think thats the solenoid, i think thats the rectifier. Looks like an old generator/starter setup. No clue how their wired unfortunately.

I think it might be a starter/generator setup. Im going to tinker with it here in a little bit. Its not running yet, but i have to find out if i can get it wired up before i worry about anything else

Well i got the tractor to turn over for the first time in 3 or 4 years!
Now i need to know how to wire the rest of the tractor.

Theres the box in the pic. I dont think its a solenoid, because starters with solenoids need power running through the solenoid before the starter, right? Maybe im wrong. But i saw a diagram and it said that the right prong goes to the starter, which it does, and that the middle prong goes to the battery(inline with positive wire going to key?) and the third prong on the far left is for accesories, such as the cigar lighter and lights, anyone have info on the box? Also does the coil run off of a magneto or the battery? If it runs off the battery the middle prong might be to charge the battery?

I have the 5 prong key ignition with BSLMR on the back to label the prongs. Well, i have a coil with breaker points and condensor. What prong does the coil attatch to? Or do i have to get a new ignition..
