Need Help With 36v 1000w Kart

Hey, I would appreciate some advice on an electric go kart build that I am currently underway with. I have been having trouble with my motor controller. During testing the throttle I had purchased as part of a kit didn't supply current to the motor. The issue is most likely something very simple that I was just too dense to realize, so I was hoping one of you would be able to offer help/point out the obvious. I would also appreciate any advice anyone has to offer in general if you see anything disastrously wrong with my build.

I did make the effort to look through the forum to see if I could find a post to help but although Sid's posts were very informative, they didn't really give me much insight into my specific situation.

Also one last thing, the end goal of this project is a kart that tops out around 25-30 mph, I wasn't planning on making a 45-50 mph beast so please take that into account when judging my choice of parts.

For testing I used a 12v battery instead of the 36v battery pictured. My assumption is that there simply wasn't enough current going through the controller to power the motor but I am not sure if that is the only issue or if it even is an issue in this case. I am very sorry if the answer is blindingly obvious, I don't have much experience with electronics at this scale.

it's not been approved by a moderative unit yet....
So yeah we cannot see it. (just some traces of it)

@F1 Ricer; hang in there... as soon as we know your problem we can try to help.
be patient.

For now, check your throttle setup with the manual of the controller;
make sure all wires are firmly connected and the battery you use to test is at full charge
and of the correct voltage (36V controllers will NOT power the motor with less than ~28V worth of battery)

Also: some controllers have a safety switch (generally the brake switch)
check the manual if yours has too. If so that brake is a NC and you need to short the wires for testing (or better: install the switch)

But enough with generic & obvious errors..
let's first see what your question is really :D

You've actually answered my main question within your reply. I was using 24v to test the motor, not 28v. As far as I know that would be the only issue. I may have other problems but those have either yet to be discovered or identified. Thank you so much, you've saved us buying a new controller. I really appreciate it. I had searched the forum for an answer but I most likely didn't look hard enough so I must apologize for making a new thread where one didn't need to be made.
