IMO, It's gonna be easier to cut everything off a reweld than try to find a longer hose & bleed the system

I am leaning that way too. I had forgotten that you also had a problem, needing a certain size tube. It makes me feel better now

Putting a longer brake line shouldn't be too much hassle. Pinch it off before/as you're detaching it. You'll probably only get a couple of bubbles right there, since you'll need more fluid for a longer line anyway, adding it will just be part of the bleed process.

While it does suck that you didn't notice until your son in law pointed it out, it's still amusing

I can't count the number of times I've had to take something back apart because I didn't use enough forethought. It happens! I learned from it every time though

I was able to get a small amount of work done this weekend. It was raining most of the time, and I hate working outside in miserable weather.

I used mu grinder to get the old brake setup off. Fabroman has given me some pointers on a better orientation for the setup, so I have done it that way. The lever now will get pulled forward. This means less kinks in the cabel.

Question though... what keeps the angle of the post perpendicular to the master cylinder when you actuate the linkage?

It looks like the pivot point where the clevis is mounted will pull backward as it goes up, changing the angle of the post going into the cylinder. Or am I seeing it wrong (wouldn't be the first time).

I definitely feel your pain on the inclement weather impeding your work! You and I are sailing on the same ship.

EDIT: Just looked at it again, with the amount of stroke, it's probably negligible

The angle will change slightly as it goes up, but it won't even travel 1cm to actuate the master cylinder. The slight angle change is not going to matter in the short travel distance

Sorry guys. I have been preoccupied. I keep on meaning to get round to finishing it, but I have bought a metal detector which is taking up my free time at the moment

I know...I know. I have lost interest for the last couple of months. Personal problems.....but I will hopefully be getting back to it soon. I am so close to being finished

Hey....I joined this forum when I rebuilt my Manco.....I screwed up the timing when I rebuilt the Tecumseh. .....it still sits....basically finished except for that......

You'd think a guy could find a couple of hours to fix that. .....

I would try looking online for reduction box parts. Honda dealers might be able to give you part numbers which you can then use to search the web.

I have been very lax with this build the last year. Life happened and it has fallen along the wayside for the moment. I am definately going to finish it one of thee days though
