My project scooter that I have been talking about soo much

This is after some of the de-construction of the scooter, It came with cy460 46cc 2 stroke race motor fully ported, hp tunable carb, and jet pro pipe (removed in the pic) was making about 6 hp with a violent powerband but was only making around 3.5ish ft lbs of torque. Plus the darn thing redlines at I belive 17000rpm which I question its realiability, plus its far more expensive of a motor than the honda clones so I dont want it to blow up on me. its redline is no joke look at the specs at goped.com )

Anyways with this engine transplant steping up to 8 ft lbs ( harbor freight 6.5 hp motor ) of torque should do the trick, I only have 1 pic but i will be taking many more tomorrow, Ps sorry if the quality isnt good im just learning how to upload pics. By the way thanks in advance for all the questions I will be asking you guys lol

Yeah I hope so, what do you think of a gear ratio of 12teeth on clutch, 55-60 teeth on sprocket, with 10 inch tires, the ration is a high ratio buty the tires are only 10 inches so it equals out to be a fairly torquey ratioconsidering people run a slightly lower ratio but with 14-18 inch tires. Any ways should run around 22-26 mph and be VERY TORQUEY enough to climb a steep hill from a stand still

The ratio sounds good, and like you say, there will be lots of torque. As long as your sprocket is not too big for your tyre, you should be good. You don't want to be going round a corner on the sprocket and not the tyre.

The tire is 10 inches and the sprocket will be approx 7 1/4 diameter, do you think that will be too big?

only 1.25 inches in from the tires edge will be left. i would run a jackshaft if i was you so it wouldnt be a problem.

That seems like adequate room wouldnt you agree? I dont want to run a jackshaft as the price of this project is climbing everyday. Im trimming the board 2 inches and extending the frame by 3- 4 inches to fit the larger motor. It will be center mounted instead of side mounted, to keep a good center of gravity. I will be welding alot of supports to strengthen the frame. I have already added race handlebars and strenghened race pole already. I have also added kenda 671 4 ply tires, there supposedly the strongest 10 inch tire you have buy. has bladez disc brakes in the front which are actually very strong.

So far it looks like everything is going to get together. hopefully it will have enough torque to pull a house off its foundation lol. Anyways I have encountered some sprocket troubles. I made a post about it in the " all other parts " section of the forums including many detailed pictures of my problem. please take a look at it and tell me if you can help ill bost the link below

i posted to the other thread, but what i said was why not buy a blank and have a machine shop drill your holes? 4 holes should not cost much.
