My next kart design

I did consider using a chunk of would for da breaks but i was afraid the friction wood start a fire.
I was watching old school cartoons with my granddaughter this morning and bam !!
There was the solution.....an anchor to throw out when having to stop. Genius

Now for the rough ride i decided on suspension.
Cut the kart in half then put a couple small hinges. Then put bungie cords from front to back forcing the center up therefor creating suspension.

So how are you going to keep the cut down plastic lawn chair in place with the hinges directly under it? You'll also need to calculate just how much flex the PVC roll cage can handle, because that might affect suspension tuning.....

Actually its a milk crate, i figure if i attach it to a pipe above the hinges it will allow the pivot point to still work.
Now the roll cage will have a seperate front and rear section, this way the upper pieces can have 2 diameters. One inside the other with enough space for motion will work when kart hinges.

You said you figured no less than a 750cc power plant, which has me wondering if you were planning on air or liquid cooled. The thought that just occurred to me is you could use the roll cage as the radiator for a liquid cooled model to help keep the weight down.
