my home made steam engine

here are some pictures of my steam engine i made only a pillar drill was used to make this along with some files and a hack saw and allot of elbow grease the flywheel is a 1 inch section of 220mm bar stock i found at collage i started turing it down but havent had time to finish it i foolishly broke it buy trying to use it at 240psi and it bent the bar coming out of the cilender










it runs nice between 5 and 70 psi and about 200rpm

pleas comment ask questions suggest improvements

Amazing bit of work. I assume you are running it off of compressed air for now? I found that steam models behave differently with air than steam. I have one 16mm scale UK model locomotive that runs ok on air, but with steam (and a bunch of that smelly steam oil in its lubricator) runs like a champ. I think is better sealing, even with packing and O rings for it now.

the piston is a cut down cb200 piston and barrel liner and i already have the rings i have founf that it runs better on steam but supplying enough can be a problem ther is now seals on the slide valve the holes are just remed
