I want to build a motorized recliner with my students in my pre-engineering class. Before we get started in the fall, I want to see if it is a project that can be completed relatively cheaply. Ideally we would find an old power wheel chair and scavenge parts, but if we can't do that, could we use 2 electric motors like this: http://www.monsterscooterparts.com/...t-750-watt-motor-controller-throttle-kit.html
If we use that motor, would we need 2 controllers, or would we just use 1? If we use 2 controllers, how would we use one throttle (joystick) to control both motors? Also, could we use a joystick from say a PS3 or similar to act as the throttle, or would we need to shell out the money for a joystick controller from a power chair?
Thanks
