Motor reccomendations?

Just another newbie here (lol).

I'm looking to take a Yerf Dog (esque) frame (~350 lbs) and make it run 40+ mph on 24(if possible), 36 or 48 volts. I am open to dual rear motors....what do I pick? I don't think that dual 1000w my1020s geared low will even get me that fast?

I know others have some good motors...any suggestions?

And also, how can I calculate speed? There must be some equation?

350 Lbs is what the frame weights?

Approx. 350lbs for frame. 500lbs total


What I'm trying to ask is..."for under $300 (motor wise, before sprokets and gearing) is it possible to get 500lbs rolling at 40+mph with approx 15in tires?

I believe a dual motor setup is required and because of weight you will need torque decreasing top speed. I see approx. 25 Mph at 48v with that much weight. If you can get yourself a good controller to push 100 amps @ 48v to the motor it will compensate for the torque needed and using 13 tooth motor and a 55 tooth rear sprocket, it will get you about 43 Mph but because of weight i would say anywhere around 33+ Mph. This is how I would do it.

You put a price tag of $300, each 1000 watts motor run you about $100 each and require 1 controller for each, going over your $300 price tag.

I am doing my calculations based on my own experience but someone else can help. I use 1 - 36v 1000 watts motor on my scooter @ 48v, the scoot weights about 45 Lbs and I weight 230 Lbs and it moves me at 28 Mph with 11T motor and 55T rear, using 12.5" tires.

Well, this idea was originally for a science project on electric motor power consumption, but it changed. Don't need a motor anymore. :)
