Now this is just nuts. I would pay to watch this for sure. Front row.... Check out how the suspension just soaked it up when landing. This truck is for sale here with nice price tag.

How fast it stopped was amazing as well. Just amagine the fun you would have driving this truck anywhere....

Bighead, you just got sucked in by VERY CAREFUL PLANNING overshadowed by a whole lot of hipe. They knew in advance the min. distance they could go; anything more was just a plus. Same thing with being able to stop. Looking at the video, the jump took place in a stadium of some sort; they had to bring to a halt quick to keep from crashing into the stands. Again, looking at the vid., ( you have to look real close) the gravel bed he stops in is only spread out in an arc around the landing ramp. Its the only place they need it, and its there only provide drag (a LOT of it) so they wouldn't have to replace the stands. It's old technology, the F.A.A. has been using it for decades for emergency over runs at some airports ( I read about it in Air&Space Smithsonian).

Still, cool jump. And it would be fun to drive the truck. Problem is, where? Around my neck of the woods, I'd probably have someone calling the cops if I took it down the driveway to check the mail. And the nearest city worthy of the name is 20 miles away!!! :furious2::ninja:

The truck was more than 3/4 stopped before he hit the gravel. The brakes soaked up just like the suspension.

The Yellow Driver of Team Hot Wheels breaks the world record for distance jump in a four-wheeled vehicle at the Indianapolis 500 on May 29th 2011. Watch as the Yellow Driver, Tanner Foust, drops 10 stories down 90 feet of orange track and soars 332 feet through the air.

Leaving out weather or not the trucks brakes did all the work, ( you say yah, I say neh) they had that big arc shaped gravel wedge to make sure things didn't get out of hand. Without playing it, the last view box/ link you added clearly shows the truck climbing out of the hole it made coming to a halt. The gravel was also getting deeper as it went (i.e. away from the end of the ramp.).

Like I said before, FUN!!! :cheers2:

P.S. you got after me about the brakes; no suggestions on how I might be able to get away with driving it around here??:toetap05:

Ya I made that post before I seen the real cuts. I see what your saying now. The original vid looked like it stopped much faster.
