Mini Chopper Help?

Hey im zack and im thinkin about startin my first project. I was thinkin about some sort of bike and i really like the chopper style. i live back in the country so i need a strong frame and everything but i cant figure out how to attach the wheel and sprocket to an axle then to the frame. I found 2 types of axles, live and dead, and i dont fully understand them. also im not probably going to be using a tube bender, I am using a 3hp b&s engine, and I can weld. Any and all help will be much appreciated.Just ask and Ill tell you anything else i can, very limited knowledge on this subject.

you want a dead axle most likely. live is keyed to the rim. dead is like the front wheels on a 2 wheel drive, they just spin. will you be scavenging pre bent tubing? if not a torch (butane/propane, oxy-acetylene) how will you get your turns? for the regualr mini's i thought of using a generators 'roll cage?'. chopping some out of the middle and rejoining it together. softtail, ridgid, monopostal, hubless? shocks on the front?

he said he could weld, so al he would need to do is cut the pipe at an angle and weld it.

Thanks for replying.Just to be clear the dead axle is the one where I have an axle across the rear, with bearings and a hub where the wheel/sprocket/brakes are attatched?Also im not goin to bend, just angle the pipe and weld. As for whether or not it will be a softtail or rigid or whatever, i dont know what they are other than they are types of chopper. Also could you possibly tell me how to attatch a dead axle?

the wheel assembly (wheel with brake drum/rotor and sprocket) ride the axle just like a motorcycle or bicycle. wheel will be bearing supported

I was doin some research on the axles and found that the live axle setup is generally cheaper and easier to set up but i dont understand how to set them up. Just to have a backup plan, can someone tell me a simplified way to set up a live axle?

live axle on a bike? hmm, where are you looking? can't say i ever saw such a thing, but i do have ideas on how to do it.

dead axle is usually used on bikes. Its where the axle shaft stays put and the wheels have bearings in them and thats what spins. then the sprocket is attatched to the wheel. With a live axle you need bearings on your frame which is alot harder to fabricate its more better for carts
