I'm wanting to start a minibike project and was wondering what kinda stuff i would need other than the obvious frame wheels etc, i was given a briggs and strattin 3hp motor by my industrial tech teacher and have ordered a mig welder what material should iuse for the frame and drive unit?

what kind of specs are you aiming for? suspension or no suspension? off road or on road? front and rear brakes or just rear(or none at all )? fat or skinny tyres? what kind of top speed are you aiming for? for the frame just use 1" RHS tube. as for driveline get a centrifugal clutch or if you have the $$$ get a torque converter get one of them. you may want more power though, 3hp isnt gona get you going very fast (look at this for modding tips, your engine engine is pretty much the same as the 5hp so all the DIY mods will still aply, dont go buying 5 hp bits(like con rods ect), they might not work.http://www.diygokarts.com/vb/showthread.php?t=1583)
