put phase one of the lighting decor up, when the 3 year old came home from day care she said "dad the house looks amazing" :wai:

more to come, I light the pillars, mailbox, rose bushes, and put huge wreath on the face of the chimney with a spot light on it, and put a large inflatable santa on the roof as well

I'm willing to spend about $100 per season to increase the appearance until I beat Clark Griswold

Does anybody else see the irony in "icicle lights" in ARIZONA?:roflol:

Still something's missing (aside from snow). Something warm and bright. Something... burning... like the flaming bag o' puppy poo-poo on your neighbour's front step...

Oh I love putting up christmas lights. My dad and I do it every year. All around the house, in the tree in the front yard, and sometimes some homeade contraption. Always looking for improvements!

I don't even want to talk about the electrical hookup. Lets just say we put 5 or 6 different plugs into one outlet :worried2:.

The roses and mailbox get colored lights, believe it or not mr toy if the temp gets down to 27 f I can blow natural snow, that being said the record low in Phx is 22 f in the 80's I think, I make snow makers which run on an air compressor and pressure washer and sell them for $100

I used to looooove decorating for Christmas, but it's not quite as fun anymore. What I really hate is taking it all down...

we bought a few packets of solar powered ones and covered the trees with them this year. they come on at night and then in the day they charge up ready to go again.
The worst part was trying the run an extension lead to all the available power plugs in the house and turning them off each night, so that the power bill wont go through the roof haha

Thats why we got solar this year

And we stick a timer on the same outlet :2guns:

Usually needs some extra support :surrender:.
