Who's owned/used Matco tools

Iv never heard of them till yesterday watching some rubbish midday tv about 4x4 modding

They appear to have a wide range and some ingenious solutions
As some may know, tool company's rarely manufacture their whole range them selves

Which is why I'm asking about there quality
Some of the Matco Iv seen rebranded as snap on (flash brand)
But then others rebranded as SP (budget brand)

So are they any good
And how are they usually priced
Worth the effort to have a proper look

We used a lot of matco tools in the body shop. Hey are very good tools in my opinion.
But they can be expensive. I have this bit set below that was around $225.00 and a 1/4 air ratchet cost me 185.00.
Checkout the tool catalog http://www.matcotools.com

The last I heard, Snap On is still a stand alone company, although they've bought out other companies along the way...

It used to be with Snap On, that if one of their tools was badged as Blue Point, it met their standards, but they were buying it someone else. I don't know if that's still the case today...

As for Matco, I see their trucks around. I know many mechanics that like their stuff, as well as having worked with several guys that had Matco back when I still had my Snap On stuff. General impression? Seemed like decent stuff. Around here, the way you usually get hooked on one brand or the other is determined by which brand's truck show's up each week at you employer's door step......

 :cheers2:  Pat
