Manco serial number

[fibrgls]

Im new to this and have a question about the serial number on an old Manco kart I helped a friends son buy. Does anyone know if the serial number can be decoded to find a build date or by the serial number if the build date can be estimated. The B&S 5 hp motor was built 11/8/82. Any info would be great. Thanks

I think this kart was made before they were giving them model numbers. I read somewhere that they didnt get model numbers till the 90s

If the engine was built in '82, I'd be looking around the same time period... just saying
