Rear tires are 16", has preditor 212 on it now, not original. Had battery box for electric start, for old motor. Former owner had been running with centrifugal clutch. $100, figured I couldn't go wrong.Haul that thing out in the grass and take some real photos. Left, right, front, back and quarter views.
How long is the wheelbase?
Looks like a previous owner lengthened it at the top tube where the color goes from orange to black.
EDIT: Looks like you need a CVT drive. I don't think a centrifugal clutch will cut it, not without a jackshaft anyway. How tall are the rear tires?
Wheelbase is about 52 to 53 inchesRear tires are 16", has preditor 212 on it now, not original. Had battery box for electric start, for old motor. Former owner had been running with centrifugal clutch. $100, figured I couldn't go wrong.
Ken-Bar SD-8 or SD-9 is my guess![]()
Thank you, after this I was able to find SD-9 on YouTube and that's a match
I agree. He is lucky. It is an SD-9 only if you know for certain it originally had a 9 horsepower engine.
SD-8E • 8 horsepower (electric start) E for electric start?
SD-11 • 11 horsepower Briggs Vanguard (also electric start)
These all had the same frame, same tires but different engines and were also known as Sand Dogs (SD).
For 1992 the SD-8 was only available in black and that may have held true for its entire production run. The SD-9 and SD-11 had a red frame.
Specs for SD-8:
Briggs and Stratton engine 8 HP
Key electric start with headlight
Torque converter drive

No specs for the wheelbase but the overall length is listed.
Awesome deal indeed.
Everything does...So it appears to need a 420 Rotaderp and a 40 series CVT.
Does anyone know where I might find a rear axle sprocket
I think sprocket needs replaced...
