I have a Colt 45 that was built and proofed on D-Day 1944 by Ithaca Arms company.
A lot of good men died on that day on those beaches.

The Colt has been in the family since 1957, it’s not going anywhere.
My grandfather was at the battle of the bulge. He earned 2 bronze stars and ended the war liberating Dora Mittelbau concentration camp where they made the V2 rockets where he arrested the camp commendant. He would never talk about the war but still had nightmares 20 years later. When I would get lucky and he’d get drunk enough I would hear him tell stories and talk about it with grandma’s cousin. The man saw some stuff and did some things. 104th Timber Wolves 315 infantry company K. They were in the thick of it. He was an MP.
