You could try some local shops and stuff.
Babysitting :)
I think you will find it hard to get a "formal" job.

i do yard work at $10 an hour,,, that can be tough in the sun pulling weeds the whole time.

and then i get $40 for letting my neighbors cat in and feeding it for the weekend.

funny how that works?

just say your 16 nd work at timies :) thats what my friends r doing nd they got no problem

What the heck is timies? Most places (around here at least) arent going to have someone working under the table, which means they'll need your social security number, ID, etc.

Landscaping. Your local City Parks Department probably has a summer work program where they will hire underage students part time. The pay isn't amazing, but it is 100% legit and there is no taxes anyway if you're underage. I made about $5.75 an hr when I worked for the City (20 hr weeks) but it was better than nothing for a 15yr old. Stepped up to a private company the last two summers doing the same work for $8/hr at 40hr/week, working for a different mowing company this year at $8.50 and over 50hr/week with OT. Yeah, it's hard work, but anyone with a pair of testicles can handle it.

How hard is it to find work in the USA at the moment? Don't you guys have around 10% unemployment?

Yup. 10% unemployment and it seems like all the summer jobs are taken. A lot of em had like 100 sighing up for 2 positions.
