How's it going guys? Thought I would join this forum so I can get get some help and advise on my go kart projects!
A little about myself
I am currently a sophomore at Buhler High School. After I graduate I am hopping to go to college and major in mechanical engineering. I have always liked engineering because it came natural to me.
My dad runs a business that has a pretty nice shop in it, so I will probably do most of my work there.
My 1st project
I am hoping to start a new project sometime soon, then get serious about it this summer. Where is a good place to start?
I am planning to find a frame on craigslist and add the needs and wants to it. I have been on craigslist a lot recently and I haven't seen anything spectacular recently. I am willing to build a frame from scratch if need be.
Things this kart needs to have-
Things I would really like to have
I was really inspired when I saw this video Video
I like what he has, but a little bit of extra ground clearance would be nice for the snow. I know I talk about the snow a lot, but I don't want to make a snow machine. I just want something that can get me to the neighbor's house in style if there is an inch of the stuff on the ground.

Things this kart needs to have-
- Solid rear axle
- One-seater
- Top speed over 40mph
Things I would really like to have
- Predator 212cc engine
- a few minor parts for the engine for performance
- no suspension (so it's simple)
- street tires for the dry times
- set of knobby rear tires for the snow
- whole thing to be cheap-ish
