ideal torque and gear ratio for a sand go kart?

Hi, im building a sand go kart.

Something like this but with a electric motor:

Im a EV newbie and im concerned about if the motor i have selected can manage the task.

Here are some of the specs:
Voltages: 48Vdc
Rated power: 1.5KW
Peak power: 3.0KW
Speed: 3200-5000rpm
Rated torque: 4 Nm
Peak torque: 8 Nm

Also want to know if someone have experience in a vehicle like this and what gear ratio should i choose. I was thinking 9 tooth in the motor and 27 in the axl = 3.

What kinda motor are you lookin' at?

brushed or brushless?

What type of batteries? lead?, AGM (absorbent glass mat)?, lithium Ion?

What voltage?

...if 48v, remember, you'll have to carry 4- 12v batteries on your kart.

as for gear ratio...

Goin' off road in sand, dirt, grass, etc. produces huge resistance.

I would think you'll need low gearing (a lot of torque) to power thru.

& to keep from overworking (overheating) the motor

& reduce the drain on your batteries.

I would think more like 5 or 6:1 or even as low as 8:1.
