how to wire a lawn tractor starter

hey everyone
i have a 11hp lawn tractor and the ignition is dead the wires are no good. i want to wire the starter from the battery to a toggle switch then to the starter. right now i start it by grounding the battery to the frame then just put the positve to the starter. i just want an easier way to start it from the sit.

Does it have a solenoid?

no it doesn't

you need a solelnoid. you can't run the current of a starter through a toggle switch without melting it.
