Honda ATC really high idle

I recently got a 1984 honda ATC 200S I bought a new wire harness and wired it up when I started it revved like crazy so I checked the connection from the carb (brand new) to the engine it was good recently messed with the exhaust but that shouldn’t effect it don’t know what to do

Did you adjust the idle screw?

There not an idle screw on the carb I adjusted the mixture screw and got it all good

It absolutely CAN effect it, maybe not as severely as sending the idle rpm though the roof but you'll notice something isn't right
