Hi to the forum! I'm Jeff and looking for some info/help.

We aquired a Manco (dingo?) go kart. the tag reads Model 389-12 and serical number 1771384. I've been surfing the web a bit but only have found parts list for a 389-00 and a 389-11. We think the clutch might be gone on it. haven't looked into it. It has sat for many years and the kid that had it thought the clutch went and so it was parked years ago. Not sure what year it is.I'm guessing in the early 80'S?

I'm not much of mechanic... lol, but when it's broke, what do I have to loose? I just need someone to get me headed in the right direction, like a parts manual, service manual, where and if parts are available for this old thing.

Parts for karts of this era are largely generic. Check out Go Power Sports, BMI, or google "go kart parts". To replace a centrifugal clutch you will need to know the chain pitch, tooth count of the sprocket and bore size (diameter of the engine shaft).

I don’t think any Dingos used a centrifugal clutches.

Check the Manco model numbers and names on Go Kart Supply's site. Highlight 389-12 then right click on it.

Denny is correct. If there's a cent clutch on it someone swapped from a torque converter to it more than likely. The 389-11 looks like the parts are similar.
