Hi i'm new (duh). I'm 13 years old. I live in the upper part of New Zealand. I've wanted to build a off road kart for about a year but i'm a little short on money.

Welcome to the forum. If you can source parts as cheaply as possible, we can give you the advice to put it all together. Scrap heaps are good places to start

the problem is that I dont have a engine or wheels and to get anything decent it would cost me over $1000nzd 830 usd

good god!!! go to a scrap yard if you have one i got this at the scrap yard for $25

and this one for $20

and this for $20

and this for $10

and this one for $30 and all it needed was a carb clean

well nz is pretty small and we dont have many people so theres not many karts .
any way im going to go look at the local scrap yard and see if there are any goodies In the near future

KARTS- not carts- don't necessarily have to made of ANY kart parts....Spend a little time looking around here and you will have a better idea of how to make one. ...

Another possible source of parts is your local chinese pit bike dealer; find one with a workshop that does repairs & strike a friendship with the mechanic.

I got my brakes for free that way; a bunch of different setups had been thrown out because they wouldn't bleed up & it's cheaper for them to replace the whole system than spend time figuring out the problem. I had to mix & match the pieces together but, I now have a working brake setup for less than 1 hours work & many other components left over...
