Just got hold of an old go kart for my son, it needs a little TLC but runs OK since cleaning out the carb and changing the spark plug.

Looking forward to restoring my first go kart, it definatly falls into the "DIY" catagory as the Engineering company that built it has long dissapeared and Google shows no evidence that it ever existed.

My first task is to find some new brake pads for the non discript caliper and then find a way of fitting a bigger seat so my other boys can fit in it too, it's just right for my six year old but I have a couple of teenagers who want to try it out, not to mention my wife who has already told me to buy a bigger one so she can have a go.

Other than that, it's just scruffy and needs the frame and wheels painting but that can wait until any welding and mods that needs doing have been done.

That itself may be a problem when it comes to sourcing parts; thankfully, most of it is rather generic...

So, have you begun the search for a second kart yet :lolgoku:

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

I've updated my profile and yes, I have been looking for my second kart already!
Since arranging to buy this one I can't stay away from Ebay, I've already purchased two spare wheels and I'll be buying new tires once the wheels have been restored and painted.

I think I'll treat it to a new air filter this afternoon!
