Hey guys !!! new from India .., very useful forum.., doing a project on REGENERATIVE BRAKING SYSTEM ON A ELECTRIC GO-KART VEHICLE for my college project but i have very limited knowledge about how to implement it (regenerative system ) im designing a 150kg go-kart(including driver) powered by electric dc motor and this should act like a motor generator unit for regenerative system on application of brakes .., this is the concept im thinking of !!! so if you guys can help me it will gr8 thank yo:auto:

That is what I need- more people from my home country.......

Anyways, begin with the sticky on electric motors and the others and that should start you fine.....

Okay,

150-200kg, but what speed do you want or need?
does it need to climb a road inclination of some sort that is menationable (above 5% inclination)

On or off road...

that will define the motor power you need,
then we can take care of the controller.. wich can be as cheap as 30-40 USD and as expensive as 600USD or more.

I think what you'll need is somewhere in the 100 USD range since those are more likely to have the regenerative braking system build in already. ;)

I don't like the "college project" part though...
basically because there are rules that make things more complicated,
and not knowing them makes it hard to give a good answer.

So if you have to design the parts on your own, or need to know and explain all the inner workings (program code electric and electronic schematics, motor resistance and windings etc.) it's up to you to do the research.
that's why it's a college project.... :D

Anyways.. if we can give a hint, we will.
