Hello from San Antonio

Hello all,
After 7 years of watching me race formula vee's my son mentioned he'd like his own go kart. I managed to pick up a Manco Grape Escape (model 115)for him for free.

We stripped the kart to the frame, sanded , painted, reupholstered the seat, replace the tires, wheels, bearings, and threw on a predator 212 from harbor freight.

He's put a few miles on it so far, but I seem to be replacing rear tubes pretty frequently. With the tires at 30 psi, the wheels spin within the tires and rip off the valve stems. Easy enough to replace, but after replacing 4 tubes, there's got to be a better way. I'd move to a larger rear wheel/tire setup, but the 3/4" factory axle leaves few options other than the standard 4.10 tires. I've thought of putting a throttle limiter on it, but the top speed is already a dismal 12mph, so I'd rather not have him get bored at walking speeds. I've also debated putting a bearing wheel on one of the rears to make it easier to turn, but I think that all the torque to a single wheel will kill the tube that much faster.

Any suggestions?

Welcome! Correct neighborhood or not, I'd like to point out that those came with one wheel peel when new I think.
