I am here to have fun and share in your community of builders.

My first kart my dad built for me when I was 6 or 7. I remember him taking one of mom's dinner plates and tracing around it on a piece of plywood for the wheels. It had 1/2" emt conduit axles with cotter pins and washers to hold the wheels on. The 2x4 ladder frame had bent over nails to hold the axles and a plywood top. He was the engine. "Faster! Faster! Dad!"

Fast forward a few years and this was the last powered kart I built for myself. Picture in August 1992.

The way I remember it the EMT tube under my arm was the clutch, the right pedal was the throttle and the left pedal was the brake. It pulled a cable to a bicycle caliper which grasped the main sprocket. I caused a barely noticible braking effect. To brake any faster you did use your feet! Just try not to run them over in the process.

Sorry no. There are lots who do, eapecially on the beaches. Is that a passtime of yours?
