Hello my name is Sean. I grew up around karting when I was little with my brother racing WKA style karts. I tried racing karts once and it was a disaster. Anyways I'm 26 years old now and I want to try to race karts again, as a hobby. However, WKA style karting is just too expensive for my taste.

I've discovered GrassPass racing, or more commonly known as Backyard Kart Racing. Anyways, I hope to buy a Kart frame soon and start building my kart and to also find a place in North Carolina that does backyard racing.

Anyways, nice to meet y'all :)

Welcome to the forum!

What was the disaster? Did you crash or something?

No, I just wasn't ready, I guess you could say I was too young and wasn't mature enough.

Anyways, this kart won't compete in the WKA (too expensive for hobby racing), but I do plan to build my own backyard track and start a karting club consisting of yard karts and home built karts.

Sounds awesome man, are you paving your track? The best thing I can say if you have the ability manufacture some bank turns and longer is better.

Welcome to the forums, I can't wait to see this one.

Nah, it'll be a dirt/clay track. Which is fine because dirt is funner to run on. :)

So far I haven't decided if I want to build a track like Bristol or like Charlotte.
