Hello this will be a father and son account. I'm in my 40s he is almost 6.

I purchased two Carter Brother karts from Craigslist ad. I sold the smaller one and will be giving the bigger one to my son on Christmas.

The little one needed a tube and seat belt other wise very good condition. The bigger one needs a belt and front end fixed. Both are 6.5 hp tecumseh engine. The big one is 2wd. Not sure what other info is important. I will try to put up a few pictures tomorrow showing the kart and my problem front end.

I would say I am very mechanically inclined. We (my father and I)have a few older chevy that I do most of the work on. So I am not afraid to get my hands very dirty.

Wow, where are people finding these museum pieces?

Old karts with nary a scratch on them. Original tags and artwork. Hmmf.

So that kart is not a few years old. The woman I got them from said she bought it last year. Is there a way to find out a year with the numbers on the kart or engine? There is very little wear anywhere on the kart and the rear tires even still have the little nubs. I am replacing the belt some how it was destroyed only held on by a few threads.

I am also looking for a few foam covers if someone could direct me does not have to be original just a cover over the foam.

Carter Bros is supposed to be defunct. They suffered a factory fire sometime in 2010--that and foreign competition probably did them in. All go karts available these days are manufactured in China.

Without some further documentation, I would say your kart is NOS or a warehouse find.
