My name is James and I have a project I'm working on that I'm not sure how to build out correctly. Drive train is wierd to me, not the usual live axle with chain. This was belt driven and chain driven haha. Looking for more clarity on what to do next to actually fix this thing right, thanks again everyone!

Welcome. I wish your picture showed us a little more of the drive train. Got some questions for you so maybe one of us here can help you out. Is that a pully equipped centrifugal clutch driving a larger fixed pully, or is it a form of a cvt. A torque converter? The chain being the secondary player, does it transfer power to both rear wheels, or only one? It looks like your engine is a common clone or predator style engine which offers many options if you're not against changing a few things. How tall are the rear tires?

To resurrect and add more info, that strange kart drive configuration was covered in this thread with DIYGK member Karttekk doing most of the heavy lifting....

The Carter Brothers kart mentioned in that thread was shown in post #13 and Karttekk showed a manual for a Carter 1235ZX that identified the drive system that uses "G704 centrifugal belt clutch". Very strange drive system that looks like a CVT but is not.
