Grandpa wants to build Karts - NEWBIE!!

Hello Kart Gurus!
I’d like to start by saying I’m new to Karts, but mechanical.
Grandson and I would like to build something along the lines of a Manco Dingo with full roll cage. We want off road, not looking for a racer.
Plans for frames, ideas for places to find parts, etc are what I need right now.
Maybe even used kart if the location and price is agreeable.
TWO karts is my goal. I’ve got other grandkids

Welcome! I would suggest checking Craigslist and finding at least a
good frame to work with, I just purchased 2 myself. As far as parts go, Gopowersports.com has everything you could need or want!, and so will Amazon if you know what your looking for. Have to be careful. Parts are abundant online, but not local where I live, except for the actual Motor. Harbor freight carries the Predator series, which has become the most common engines these days for karting!

I would also suggest doing some research on Clutch vs Torque Converter, and live axel vs Single tire drive. If your going to building from the ground up, Be nice to get what you want the first time.

Thanks! I did find a Carter 2336ZxH Kart complete except for motor and clutch. This is a live axel, I’m super happy about that!
I’ve been burning up YouTube vids and Gopowersports.com. I also like Kartfab.com for ideas.
