Devino246 what do you suggest as far as seo goes? im trying to get some good traffic and I want to know what things i can do as far as getting my website ranked higher. All im aware of so far is that whole thing about keywords. How does that work exactly? how many do you suggest I have? and what else can I start doing to get my site ranked higher?
Google uses an algorithm called PageRank, which is actually owned by Stanford University and leased to Google. They keep tweaking it and throwing off rankings.
Meta key words aren't used by PageRank. A few SE's paid attention to key words, and then people started abusing them, so they were dropped.
A few things you should do:
1) Get links to your site on other sites. Whether it be ads, affiliate marketing, or just posting on forums like you've done.
2) Update the site regularly, and not just with useless junk. Add weekly specials, customer testimonials, etc. on a regular basis.
3) Provide a descriptive meta description. Google will choose to use this description in their search results if they find it to be relevant and descriptive. Otherwise, they'll pick words out of the webpage, which may not do much for you.
