Hey guys, been lurking on here of an on for a while drooling over the great build projects. Im new to karts and picked up my first project from a nephew for $20. After some reading I found out how deep I stepped in it. Its a Carter Mini-Talon, although the Rube-Goldberg drive mechanism was previously removed and lost, saving me from a more dire mistake of trying to make it work.
So, yeah Im new, clearly not that bright, but Im here to help add confusion to real questions and insight into new mistakes.

Really???? You stepped $20 deep! Got way more in parts. Just gotta do a little. We're here, you're fine. One step at a time.

Not as easy online as onsite, but it kinda looks like ditch the whole back-end framing and start over. Pretty cheap and easy if you weld. Do you?

Thanks for the welcome guys. Ive moved the project to the discussion section under the title "what to not do". yes it is conduit 0.05" wall. not my first choice, but for testing and getting an idea its cheap and easy to work with, once you FAP off all the silvery sparkle dust. Stepped in it good, all the parts so far seem to be metric, or at least some metric fasteners, and bearings, those tend to be specialty parts where I live.
