Have a briggs and strattion 5hp powered kart. Decided to upgrade current engine. Want to know where I can get a better exhaust that will bolt on where the current exhaust was. also looking for a high performance air filter.

Is it the updraft carb or what ever you call them? The one mounted to the petrol tank.
If so, I think they have a round bit that the filter attaches to, put an open element filter with the correct diameter opening on there. Search on eBay "air filter xx" xx being the opening size. You can get them for $10-15.

... or you can just make one like I did. A couple of paint tin lids, a bit of diamond mesh & a piece of foam. I can put up more pics if you want.

As for the muffler, that's coming soon

wow thats nice. did you weld all the parts together or just tighten it down with the screw that holds it on?

Just holds together with the screw. Mine is only small but you can make it any size, depends on what you have lying around. I only had 250ml tins, if I'd had 500ml tins it would've been bigger :)

BTW: My engine is a 3hp but it has a 32mm carby opening... which doesn't really matter, you just cut the hole the size you need

As for the muffler: Here is the makings of the muffler for my 11hp.
The smaller one is pretty much the same... only smaller. I can't put up pics of it atm, it's at a mates place being TIG welded.

WARNING! Advancer fabricating skills may be required to achieve a good result on the small scale :)
