Anyone ever do front brakes on a cart ? I was thinking it would be somewhat straight forward using some small drum brakes that fit the dish of the rim and mounting the backing plates to the spindles somehow.

But nah, most people just go for rear brakes.
You would need two dont forget, you would have to somehow connect the two cables to the one pedal.
However, it could be done. And if you want it, go for it!

hmm...and discs would be even better! you could mount the calipers to the spindles. Sounds cool. do it.

I bought these recently on ebay. They are from a Yamaha Raptor 660. If all goes well, they will eventually be on my Kart which is under construction.

but lose the upper and lower a arm and make a bracket for it to pivot in? Although front disc brakes on a go kart would look evil.

Edit: unless its going to be a off road go kart of course.
